30 Days of Band of Brothers | Day 14  Favourite Scene

└ Final Scene in Points

2Lt. Carwood LiptonHenry V was talking to his men. He said, “From this day to the ending of the world, we in it shall be remembered. We lucky few, we band of brothers. For he who today shed his blood with me shall be my brother.”

I spent ages trying to think of a favourite scene and in the end I decided that I couldn’t pick just one scene. The entire series is full of so many incredible scenes (sad ones, funny ones, shocking ones…) and it seems almost sacrilegious to pick one over the other. So, I decided to choose a scene which, as I said in Day 11, really sums up the entire series for me. The paratroopers are back home in America, the war has ended, the sun is shining, and they’re playing a game of baseball. They’re working together as a team during the game, but no longer as a team whose member’s lives are threatened with every step they take. They’re safe. But even this moment is tinged with sadness because there’s no way that any of them will be able to forget the horrors they saw and the friends that died next to them.
